How to Jump Higher Faster - The Basics

The purpose of this articles is to help one understand the basic principles that will allow on to jump higher faster than ever before. The ability to jump high is something not everyone needs. However, athletes such as basketball players or those in the high jump sport view it as not only a necessity but a bonus. One of the fastest ways to jump higher fast is weight training. Your ability to jump comes from the strength or power you have. Two of the most important muscles are exercised in weight training ' the calf and quadriceps. Strong calf muscles propel you off the ground, giving you that explosion you need to jump high.

A few exercises to strengthen these muscles in weight training- leg press workouts, leg extensions and the wall sit. The leg press workout involves the leg pushing outwards or upwards on a leg press machine. The leg extensions involve sitting flat and lifting the weight with both legs. The wall sit does not require any equipment, and all you need is to find a wall, sit on it, drop your posterior to a 90 degree angle to the ground and hold the position. The calf muscles however are trained with simple toe raises and running sprints. Just do repetitions of these exercises and there will be fast gain in jumps soon!

In conclusion one should be able to know realize how vital it is for one to include weight training into your workout routing in order to get maximum returns in the efficiency of your body's potential.
